Greenland is quite a bit bigger (about the size of Mexico) but Iceland is more populated.

There are some airports in Greenland, but we would only use them if we were on fire or something equally urgent. They are short runways in mountainous regions with little in the way of services.
Iceland, on the other hand is regularly used as an alternate airport. Should a passenger have a medical emergency mid-ocean, or we had an engine failure or something, we might go there (Keflavik).

No, actually BJork is from Iceland. The OTHER island of rock and ice in the North Atlantic.
